The World Religions

Through analogy, the Sunflower Story showed how the world religions come together as one. Each religion presents a next step towards fulfilling a common, evolutionary goal.

Now let’s look at how this really played out in history.

We’ll see that the world religions each represent a discrete and essential stage in the evolution of human consciousness. Each religious teaching presented the next, essential piece as humankind became ready.

New understandings given through time

Overview

MapThe world’s earliest sacred teachings give a blueprint to humankind: What is the basic goal to be fulfilled? What tools will be used? What’s required?

The teachings of Hinduism and Abraham bring to the world an introduction to the basic spiritual task awaiting all humankind, and the orientation and qualities required to take the journey effectively.

Definition & Laws

House

The wheels or evolution are set in motion. Laws are laid down to support healthy human functioning and to support the specific growth objectives ahead.

Judaism brings the advent of prophesy. The fundamental laws for how to maintain stable, healthy life on Earth are received by Moses in the form of the Ten Commandments. The Chosen People are set aside for a distinct spiritual purpose.

Stirrings

Stirrings_TreasureConsciousness expands through the percolation up from within of something that had previously been dormant. A tension begins as these new, inner stirrings threaten the established order.

In the teachings of Buddhism and Taoism, the exemplars of enlightenment Buddha and Lao Tzu introduce to humankind the premise that the consciousness of Divine union is possible through illumination and that, in that state of consciousness, peace is attained.

Meanwhile, in China, spiritual life has had a chance to progress, yielding the inevitable challenges to the status quo. To re-establish order, Confucius responds with Confucianism–a moral system of conduct based in obedience to established authority.

Declaration

IAMThe understanding that union with the Divine may be attained in consciousness is taken a step further–into actual embodiment. Through Jesus Christ, humankind is introduced to the idea that the divine and humankind may be united in flesh and in action, not just in awareness. Christianity is founded.

In his suffering, death and resurrection, Jesus Christ also embodies the next evolutionary steps required to complete the human spiritual journey to actualized union with God (repercussions and purification through suffering).

Repercussions

Spill-Left-WineThe declaration of Stage 3 has its effects, both good and bad. Emotional commitment is tested.

Muhammed’s recitation of the Qu’ran brings the startling, sometimes outraged, yet accurate perspective on the mundane world as it appears after Stage 3 (i.e., after true Spiritual Reality is perceived). The Qu’ran becomes the foundation of Islam.

The Qu’ran also provides precise instruction on how to achieve the final stage of spiritual evolution: purification through surrender. Muhammed is indeed the Last Prophet.

Purification

SteppedOnExternal forces oppress until all personal agendas of mind, heart and action have been neutralized–all in readiness for union with the Divine.
